Where do I start…
Wealth, like happiness, is never attained when sought after directly. It comes as a byproduct of providing a useful service. ~Henry Ford
Most of us want to believe that our lives have meaning and purpose. We want to believe that we aren’t here just to exist from birth until death. We want to make a difference in the world—our world—we want to be deemed important.
Many of us would also like to be wealthy. We would like to be able to go shopping and care little about the cost of those new shoes or new car.
But wealth and happiness don’t go hand-in-hand. In fact, one can have wealth and be miserable. Or one can have happiness and be poor. One can also have both.
Happiness may not be so much a state of mind, but rather, a series of moments—minutes, if you will—that compile into a life that is happy.
Being happy is not the opposite of being sad, just like being rich is not the opposite of being poor.
There are thousands of blogs, self-help books/sites/speeches, but all of them have something in common and that is the desire to bring about a type of happiness. This blog is no different except that it is written by me!
My desire is that through this blog, I will be able to help you recognize and capture some of those moments that can lead to a happy life. My hope, too, is that I might be able to better grasp them and bring a greater “wealth” of happiness into my life.
This is an adventure so hang on and let’s take 5 minutes to happiness.
Until tomorrow, enjoy your day and take a few of those moments and be happy!
